Walmart AMP completes $17M expansion

ROGERS — The Walmart Arkansas Music Pavilion has completed its $17.2 million expansion.

The concert venue hosted a ceremony and tour Thursday morning for press, sponsors and community leaders.

“This is not how we envisioned unveiling our expanded facility, and we will do a more public celebration once health and safety conditions permit it,” said Peter Lane, president and chief executive officer of the venue.

The AMP increased seating capacity from 10,000 to 11,000, Lane said.

The expansion also includes a covered plaza and the top of the lawn that includes a bar. The plaza can be used for concert viewing or can be rented out for events, Lane said.

More concession stands, additional restrooms, an expanded main entry plaza and backstage amenities for artists such as new dressing rooms are also new to the AMP.
